There is no bitcoin ATM in Holon or Bat Yam
Together, Holon and Bat Yam are home to more than 320,000 people, according to 2024 CBS figures (via Wikipedia). Yet as of October 2026 neither city has a bitcoin ATM, a crypto cash desk or a business mapped as accepting bitcoin. We checked the branch list of Bitcoin Change, the only network operating crypto machines in Israel, as well as OpenStreetMap and BTC Map.
People do search Google for “bitcoin ATM Bat Yam”, but we found no evidence that one exists. We could not check Coin ATM Radar, which blocks automated access, so if you have seen something listed there, confirm it with the operator before you set out with cash.
North to Tel Aviv, or south to Rishon
What makes Holon different is that it sits almost exactly in the middle. From the city centre, the King George St 50 desk in Tel Aviv is about 6.2 km in a straight line, and the Rothschild St 1 desk in Rishon LeZion about 6.6 km. Add 20–40% by road. So the decision is not really “which is closer” but “which is easier for me today”.
King George St 50, Tel Aviv
- Open Sun–Thu 10:00–20:00, the later of the two
- Fri 09:00–14:00
- City centre, plenty of public transport, hard parking
- Phone 03-9181167
Rothschild St 1, Rishon LeZion
- Open Sun–Thu 10:00–19:00
- Fri 09:00–14:00
- Rishon’s old city centre
- Phone 03-5334963
The rules are the same at both. On a first visit you bring two valid ID documents (an Israeli ID card plus a passport or driving licence) and fill in a short questionnaire. You can buy BTC, ETH, BCH and USDT with shekel cash, or sell coins for banknotes. The fee is 7% each way, with caps of ₪10,000 a day, ₪20,000 a week and ₪30,000 a month. Separately, the cash law limits payments to a business at ₪6,000 per transaction. We have not seen how the two caps are reconciled, so call before turning up with a large sum.
A practical tip if you drive: Holon sits by the Ayalon and Route 4 corridor, so both directions are reachable without crossing town. In Tel Aviv, central parking is the challenge; in Rishon the desk is in the old centre. Either way, keep the receipt after you buy or sell. The operator says it does not report to the Tax Authority on customers’ behalf, and a gain on a sale is subject to 25% capital gains tax even when the deal was done in cash.
Buying crypto in Holon and Bat Yam: five ways, cheapest to dearest
Not everyone needs to travel. If the goal is simply to buy bitcoin and hold it, the trip to a desk is usually the expensive option. Here are the realistic routes, with the approximate cost of each:
| Route | Cost | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Cash desk, Tel Aviv or Rishon | 7% each way | Cash, in person, up to ₪10,000/day |
| Bits of Gold, bank transfer | 1.95–1.20% + VAT | Licence 56716, ₪750 minimum |
| Bit2C, order book | 1.25–0.05% | Licence 72080, you place the order yourself |
| International exchange, by card | 0.49–4.99% + service charge | Fast, in US dollars, no Israeli licence |
| Shekel P2P | OKX median ~+21% | Highest risk; not for beginners |
Per operator sites and P2P data collected on 5 October 2026. Card costs also depend on your card issuer, which may add a currency-conversion fee.
The Israeli platforms with a permanent retail licence are Bits of Gold and Bit2C. Both work by transfer from a bank account in your own name, and neither accepts cash. International exchanges accept Israeli residents and let you pay by card or Apple Pay, but none of them holds an Israeli licence. The full comparison is on our quickest way to buy page.
Holon and Bat Yam: who is looking for crypto here
Holon is a large residential city south of Tel Aviv, with an industrial zone and tech park, the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT), the Design Museum and the Children’s Museum, which is why it brands itself “the children’s city”. Bat Yam, its neighbour to the west, adds about 130,000 more residents. There is no well-known crypto company or research centre here, so this page sticks to the practical.

For an HIT student buying a small amount for the first time, the desk offers something an app does not: someone to help install a wallet and explain what is going on. But on ₪300 the fee is ₪21, more than any online route would cost. For families and people working in the industrial zone who want to put away a fixed amount each month, a standing order on a licensed platform (1.55% at Bits of Gold) makes far more sense. And anyone who needs to sell into banknotes, because that is what they have or because they would rather not go through the bank, will find a two-way machine at both desks.
Holon and Bat Yam residents have a luxury most cities without a desk lack: two options at the same distance, one open until eight in the evening.
That makes cash a reasonable choice for people who genuinely need it. But for anyone who just wants to buy and hold, 7% is a steep price for convenience. A bank transfer to a licensed Israeli platform usually costs around a third of that, and the route back to the bank is cleaner.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a bitcoin ATM in Holon?
No. As of October 2026 Holon has no bitcoin ATM, crypto cash desk or shop mapped as accepting bitcoin. The nearest points are Bitcoin Change at King George St 50 in Tel Aviv, about 6.2 km in a straight line from central Holon, and Bitcoin Change at Rothschild St 1 in Rishon LeZion, about 6.6 km. Check with the operator before you travel.
Is there a bitcoin ATM in Bat Yam?
We found none. People do search for a bitcoin ATM in Bat Yam, but there is no point in the city on the Bitcoin Change branch list, OpenStreetMap or BTC Map. Bat Yam residents use the same two desks as Holon: Tel Aviv to the north and Rishon LeZion to the south. If someone offers you a private “ATM” in Bat Yam, be wary.
From Holon, is the Tel Aviv or the Rishon desk better?
The distance is almost the same, so it comes down to your neighbourhood and the time of day. The Tel Aviv branch is open Sunday to Thursday until 20:00, an hour later than Rishon LeZion, which closes at 19:00. On Friday both open 09:00–14:00. The fee, limits and two-ID requirement are identical.
Can I sell crypto for cash near Holon?
Yes, at either of the two nearest desks. The machines are two-way: you send coins from your wallet and collect shekel notes in multiples of ₪100, at a 7% fee. The operator’s homepage lists BTC, ETH and BCH for sale, while its FAQ also mentions USDT, so call ahead before selling USDT.
Is cash P2P a good alternative in Holon and Bat Yam?
We would not recommend it. In our check on 5 October 2026, not one shekel P2P ad offered an in-person cash meeting, and the median OKX ad was about 21% over the market rate. Meeting a stranger who is carrying cash is also a personal-safety risk. Between private individuals the law caps cash at ₪15,000 per deal.
